Helping Others
At Ropley C.E Primary School, we support a number of charitable events throughout the year. Although we support the national fundraisers, such as Children In Need, Sport Relief, Comic Relief and Cancer Research, we also support smaller, more local charities such as the Foodbank and the Shoebox Scheme.

Global Neighbours Citizenship Our School Council chose to support Wessex Rotary Shoebox Scheme last year. Thanks to our local community and our parents, we donated a fantastic 44 boxes which were sent to disadvantaged and displaced children in Eastern Europe. Our Councillors also led a Whole School Worship to tell the children all about the scheme, before handing over the boxes to James from Wessex Rotary. |

Alton Foodbank - 2024 This Harvest we again supported Alton Foodbank which is part of the Trussell Group. We collected a huge amount of food (117kg!) and were delighted to be able to invite our parents and grandparents to our Harvest Service at our beautiful, rebuilt St Peter's Church. Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal - 2023 We are delighted to again be able to support the Poppy Appeal. Our children were able to purchase child friendly items as well as the traditional paper poppy. We are delighted that we raised £159.16 for this year's appeal. |

Abby's Heroes - 2023 Our children and staff again wore Christmas Jumpers to support Abby's Heroes, which is a local children's cancer charity that supports children and their families. We raised £137.35 for this worthy cause. |

Children In Need - 2024 We were pleased to support this national charity again. The children all wore their 'Pudsey Bear' items and we raised a brilliant £189.87. A special thank you to Frogs for doing the bucket shake on our behalf at the school gates.

Great Ormand Street Hospital Our retiring collection from this year's Year 4 & 5 production of Peter Pan was donated to Great Ormand Street Hospital. JM Barrie, the author of Peter Pan, gave the rights to the book to GOSH in 1929. Thanks to our audiences generosity we were able to make a donation of £128.00 |

Canine Partners The children had a 'Wear Purple' Day to support Canine Partners, who support physically disabled people by training and providing an assistance dog. Jessie Hill, an ex pupil of Ropley is the proud owner of Oscar, a beautiful Golden Retriever, who helps her with day to day tasks. Assistance Dogs wear a purple jacket when they are working. We were delighted to donate £120 to their amazing work. |
